Botanic Fall

Who knew there were two Botanic Gardens?! Not this little lady! I have a boatload of locations that I suggest to couples for their engagement session depending on their personalities, but love it just as much when a couple comes to me with a location they really enjoy. And that's how I discovered the Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield. Check it out if you haven't before.

I did Rachael and Ed's engagement pictures just a few weeks before Halloween, when all of the leaves were a gorgeous golden yellow and still on the trees, which made for a pretty awesome backdrop. Now that I know of the Gardens, a spring and summer visit are definitely in order.

If you're curious about the random picture where Rachael and Ed are surrounded by a bunch of "hillbillies," a group had rented out the barn at the Garden's for a "Hillbilly Hoedown" and all dressed the part. The fun, hick-happy crew insisted on having their picture taken with the bride and groom to-be... and who could possibly resist that?

Intimate, Elegant, Personalized

With only 12 guests, the wedding of Toni and Glen was unlike any other wedding I have ever been a part of. Being so small, by the end of the evening I felt more like part of the party than I did the help! The day was so beautifully intimate and personal that I walked away with more wonderful photographs than I knew what to do with.

Toni and Glen's journey to the aisle made them decide that the only way to walk down that aisle was together... it was so tender and unique that I couldn't stop snapping away. The couple is always the focus of any wedding, but with such a small guest list it was easy to take that idea to the next level as I followed these two around from getting ready to saying goodbye to their guests.

Congratulations Toni and Glen!!

That's What the Hyphin is For

It's now official! Emily Vasquez is now Emily Hobday! I don't have the pictures to prove it because A) It just happened on Saturday. And B) I got to help in the celebration by being a guest as opposed to the photographer. But weeks before Emily and Aram said their vows, both sides of the family got together at Red Rocks to capture what was soon going to be one big Vasquez-Hobday family.

On a warm fall day in October it was a bit of a trial to avoid all of the exercise enthusiasts that love to get their work out in at one of Colorado's gems, but with the help of a little Photoshop we managed.
