You Get What You Give

A large portion of the marketing part of my business plan is to work with and donate to not-for-profit agencies in the community that I live in; to me it's just a given. Regardless, I am going to have to spend money to market Krista Watzel Photography, so why not work it so that that "spent" money is going into the pockets that make a difference, as opposed to the pockets that just aim to become deeper.

I began volunteering with Partners Mentoring Youth in Fort Collins about two years ago and cannot say enough amazing things about the organization and the experiences I have had with them. At the time that I donated a full wedding to "Party for Partners;" a large, auction driven fundraiser for the organization; I had shot only one wedding. But one generous and faithful bidder took a chance on my services and helped Partners out in a big way.

The bellow wedding of Emily and Kyle is the end product of a whole lot of people doing what was best for their community and I'm extremely excited about the outcome on a multitude of levels. Emily and Kyle tied the knot and celebrated that tying at the Landmark-Meridian in Greenwood Village, an amazingly beautiful private residence complex that unfortunately not just anyone can hold an event at. The whole day was so uniquely elegant, that I have been dying to share it for the past few weeks now. Thoughts, comments and criticisms are always welcome!
