Lexi Lou, How Cute Are You!!

This wasn't my first session with Little Miss Lexi; I was documenting her growth before she had even arrived into this world. The first time this little lady met my camera eye was when she was a beautiful bump in her mother's belly (she and her parents are the highlight for the maternity section on my website.) And now that Lexi Lou, as she has been endearingly nicknamed, is 9 months and growing we can now see her charming little personality. What a smile this little lady has! And she flashes it endlessly! Well, whenever she doesn't have those little fingers of her's in her mouth... also a classic Lexi pose.

I think I love editing my pictures of kids even more than I love taking them. When I'm taking them, I am so caught up in catching the moment that I don't always realize just how funny the child's expression is. So when I get to the editing stage, a lot of the pictures are like an entertaining surprise. A surprise that typically leads to longer editing time because I end up laughing the whole way through it. Rough job I have... Enjoy! I'm sure this won't be the last we see of Little Miss Lexi Lou.

A Love Deserving...

The Valentine's Day give away, that so many generous businesses in Old Town Fort Collins donated to, was a wonderful success! A slew of thoughtful Fort Collins locals took the time to write and tell us why they deserved to win the get-away valued at over $1200, but only one could win and Alicia and Jonathan had a story that was tough to compete with. A story about the couple was told by the local paper and can be found here: http://www.coloradoan.com/article/20100213/BUSINESS/2130306/Essay-detailing-husband-s-selflessness-secures-Old-Town-getaway
Unfortunately, the letter that Alicia wrote about Jonathan is no longer included in the news paper story :-(

These two were a joy to spend the afternoon with. So grateful for being chosen... they said numerous times throughout the shoot that they are two of the unluckiest people around. Hopefully this win will head their luck in a different direction. Sadly, the weather in Fort Collins was rather bitter and windy the morning of Valentine's day, so our picture taking tour was cut short, but we got some fun shots in before our run around Old Town had froze our extremities. Genuinely kind, caring and all around lovely people, I wish Alicia and Jonathan all the happiness in their future together and in their selfless adventure as foster parents. All the Best!
